In Sierra Leone, Wikki Tourists lost their first leg qualifying tie 2-0 away at RSLAF. Such high hopes almost became a nightmare until Tamen Medrano struck in the 87th minute.

The former Tiko United of Cameroun star, who has also played for Sunshine Stars, received a pinpoint pass from Isaac Loute, outpaced the Masry defence before slotting home the goal that enlivened the Nnewi crowd.

The Nigerians earned their win after bombarding Masry's goal throughout the match, with keeper Ahmed Boska producing some superb saves.

Masry, who finished fourth in the Egyptian Premier League last season, hope to build their momentum in Africa in their third participation in the continental competition. In fact, the Ghanaian believes his wards will still beat El Masry in Port Said next weekend.

FC IfeanyiUbah who is making her continental debut was nearly being forced to a draw at her Nnewi home by top Egyptian side Al Masry.

"My players are experienced enough, and I am confident that we are going to do better in Egypt when we go for the second leg", he said.
