Pilots Took Off Their Pants to Accept Their Grammy Award

Twenty One Pilots' members bared their souls and then some as they shed their tuxedo trousers to accept the Grammy for pop duo or group performance.

They quickly squashed speculation that the stunt was for publicity by telling a touching story about how they watched the Grammys years back in Tyler's rental house before realizing they were all in their underwear. "As we were watching [the Grammys], we noticed every single one of us was in our underwear", Joseph said in his acceptance speech.

The band members ran to the stage to accept their award but not before taking off their trousers at their seats.

The peculiar fashion choice drew quizzical looks from the audience, but Joseph pressed on with his explanation.

Corden's boxer briefs nearly matched Joseph and Dun's, and while the joke was amusing, the audience is probably hoping that's the last of the pantless performers they see on stage. And seriously, Josh turned to me - and we were no one at that time - and he said, 'If we ever go to the Grammys, if we ever win a Grammy, we should receive it just like this'. "I want everyone who is watching at home to know that you could be next".

Host James Corden then appeared on the stage in his underwear to move the show along.
