Man dies after brawl at Cork petrol station

A post-mortem examination is expected to be carried out on the body of a man found at a truck stop in Fermoy, County Cork.

It is understood he died after being attacked with a baseball bat.

Gardai said the injured man, in his late 30s, was being treated at Cork University Hospital where his injuries are not life-threatening.

The man's body was discovered by a staff member at around 10.30pm last night.

The two arrested men are aged in their early 40s and late 20s.

The man's remains will be taken to Cork University Hospital where a post mortem will take place later today by Dr Margaret Bolster, State Pathologist.

They are being held in Fermoy and Mallow Garda stations under section four of the Criminal Justice Act 1984.

A full forensic and technical examination including examination of CCTV will get underway later.

The nature of the Gardai's investigation will be determined by the postmortem results.
