A Warwick, R.I., father is under arrest in connection with the death last night of his 7-month-old daughter, police said. Brad Connor said "additional charges may be added" depending on what the baby's autopsy concludes.

Ryan Beeley, 37, lives in the Airway Road home, and was taken to a hospital after suffering from a panic attack. Police said Beeley contacted them because his family was concerned that he was unable to care for Willow, who was 6 weeks old at the time. Police searched the home late Tuesday.

It's still not clear what happened in the home, but investigators say the baby's mother called 911 when she noticed her little girl wasn't breathing. The cause of death is unknown at this time, police report. She was not home at the time of the incident, according to authorities. That independent agency, which describes itself as a watchdog over the DCYF, is now reviewing four child deaths and two near-deaths. Minimum housing and the building inspector have been called, due to conditions inside the house, police said.

There were no other children in the home, he said.

Neighbors said they watched the paramedics rush the baby out of the house Tuesday night. "They were probably in the house for a minute, maybe 30 seconds..." His family said they had no comment as they left court. "I just don't see how anybody could do that to their child...you're supposed to be their protector, not bring them harm".

Beeley is expected to be arraigned Wednesday morning at Kent County Court.

Police said they are still investigating the case and more charges are possible.
