Plays of the Year: Big Ben spins for Sammie's splash play

Pittsburgh fans may be in huge relief after hearing that.

Roethlisberger apparently has done that and now says he is inclined to play this season, just as the Steelers, Coach Mike Tomlin and pretty much everyone expected.

"While the Patriots went out and made themselves better, the Steelers got worse!"

Roethlisberger's National Football League future came into question in January when he said the following on 93.7 The Fan's the Cook and Poni Show (h/t CBS Pittsburgh): "I'm going to take this offseason to evaluate, to consider all options". It was definitely a moment, that's why I was honest with the trainers and doctors and wanted to tell them exactly what I was going through. "He's been very helpful to me over the years in terms of his perspective and fighting through some of the things I fight through in my business". JPP signed a four-year, $62 million contract with the G-Men, with $40 million of that money being guaranteed.

Maybe, just maybe, the team is comfortable with where they are at this point in the offseason.

The Steelers took Jones in the fourth round of the NFL Draft.

If you have to, read those last two paragraphs again to really understand what I am talking about.

"I think this year I might be looking at [Josh] Bell".

The Steelers were not big players in free agency likely because they didn't feel they needed to be. This mock draft features picks that both deliver value and help address holes within the team.

"People know me, I'll play through any injury". Why break the bank for an inside linebacker who struggles in coverage like Hightower, when you have a player like Vince Williams waiting in the wings?

Most draft analysts have the Steelers, who lost to New England in the AFC Championship Game, selecting a cornerback or linebacker/defensive end with their first round selection at No. 30 overall and Lawson would be an easy transition from 38-year-old James Harrison at the outside linebacker position of the Steelers 3-4 system.

The Steelers' franchise quarterback initially wouldn't commit to returning for his 14th National Football League season in 2017, but now appears to have had a change of heart.
