Three people are dead and three others injured after an overnight crash in Jerusalem Township.

Alejandro Ramirez-Jaramillo, 26, of Asheboro, N.C., was charged with three counts of aggravated vehicular homicide, all second-degree felonies, following a crash on North Cousino Road. He was arrested Sunday and remains incarcerated at the Lucas County Jail, according to records.

Ramirez-Jaramillo is also being held on an immigration detainer for the U.S. Boarder Patrol.

Court records show Alejandro Ramirez-Jaramillo pleaded not guilty Monday in Municipal Court in OR, east of Toledo.

Robin Shellhammer, 60, and Barbara Shellhammer, 56, both of OR, and and their daughter, Whitney Meinke, 33, of Curtice, died Sunday on the scene of the crash.

Jaramillo and his two passengers, Javier Cevera, 38, and and Pedro Martinez were treated for non-life threatening injuries. Meinke was the daughter of the Shellhammers.

OSHP troopers say all three occupants of the van were wearing a seatbelt while Mr. Shellhammer and Ms. Meinke were not wearing a seatbelt.

One week after a different fatal crash in the same area, the Ohio State Highway Patrol is investigating another fatal crash that occurred around 1 a.m. on Sunday.
