"Sean Spicer now lacks the integrity to serve as White House press secretary, and President Trump must fire him at once", said Steven Goldstein, executive director of the Anne Frank Center for Mutual Respect.

According to Stern, Spicer's stupidity shifted the conversation from Assad's atrocities against his own people to the question of how Spicer could "not know that Hitler marched his own people ... to concentration camps and turned on chemical gas".

He said Sean Spicer made a terible mistake.

The spokesperson suggested that even Adolf Hitler had not used the kind of chemical weapons that Assad had. Heidi Heitkamp next year.

When a reporter asked Spicer if he wanted to clarify his comments, he said: "I think when you come to sarin gas, there was no, he was not using the gas on his own people the same way that Assad is doing".

The freakish statement ignored the Nazi madman's use of toxic gas to exterminate millions of Jews.

I was trying to draw a distinction of the tactic of using airplanes to drop chemical weapons on population centers.

Spicer apologized for the remarks, telling Fox News "I - especially during this week [Passover] - regret using that term and apologize and hope that we can focus on the president's decisive action that he took to make sure that we deal with the situation in Syria". "I would ask obviously for folks' forgiveness to understand that I should not have tried to make a comparison". And the Anti-Defamation League has offered to help educate Spicer on the Holocaust.

Stern said Wednesday on his Sirius XM radio show that Trump's press secretary speaks "fluent moron" and is "embarrassing" the president.

A few hours later, a contrite Spicer appeared on United States television to apologise for the comments, which coincided with the Jewish holiday of Passover.

McCarthy's Spicer delivered a belligerent apology from a podium, but also berated the press for inflating the incident.
