Consistently batting leadoff with Trea Turner injured, Eaton has been able to give the heart of Washington's lineup something to work with on a consistent basis. The Indians will send Danny Salazar (0-1, 4.63) to the mound to face off against Kyle Gibson (0-1, 8.00) on Monday. The converging Cardinal defenders seemed to lose the ball in the sun and it fell into no man's land.

Glover threw a sinker to Phillies second baseman Tommy Joseph, who singled and brought in the tying run home. Mondesi swiped second and moved to third on a Blake Parker wild pitch. The six-game winning streak is the longest by any team in baseball so far this season. Fun! Parker (0-1) absorbed the loss. Seven innings plus one out, three hits, one walk, one run, six strikeouts.

The Cardinals are sitting at the bottom of the NL Central at 3-6 as they head into this game against the 4-4 American League Yankees.

After Tyler Clippard pitched out of a jam, Dellin Betances threw 10 balls and 10 strikes but still struck out the side in a scoreless eighth. The last time rain forced cancellation of a game at AT&T Park was in April 2006. The left-hander allowed two runs, five hits and two walks and struck out two. Francisco Rodriguez pitched the ninth inning to pick up his fifth save. Frazier hit a three-run homer against Justin Grimm in the ninth. They scored a lone run in the second inning on a wild pitch that was uncorked by Carlos Martinez, and Sabathia managed to make that run hold up until he ran out of gas in the seventh inning.

The Braves didn't have a hit off Padres starter Trevor Cahill until the fifth but scored two runs in that inning, two more times in the sixth and seventh and three times in the eighth.

Sabathia does owe some thanks to his defense, as sparkling plays from Gardner and Starlin Castro certainly helped him get deeper into the game.

Miami had almost won the game in the previous at-bat, a double by Miguel Rojas that went all the way to fence.

The Yankees improve to 5-0 at home on the season.

The Marlins came within four outs of what would've been the first multi-pitcher no-hitter in franchise history.

Chapman has not allowed a run to the Cardinals since giving up an RBI single to Rafael Furcal in the eighth inning of an 11-8 win for the Cincinnati Reds on September 2, 2011. He also put two runners on base with two out, but finished it by striking out Randal Grichuk.

Both clubs stumbled out the gates at the onset of the season, and as the Cardinals look to win two straight games for the first time this year, the Yankees are rolling and don't have any plans of slowing down.

Milwaukee (7-6) has homered in eight straight games and 20 times in 13 contests. Miami won the final three of a four-game series. Masahiro Tanaka gave up three runs in 6.1 innings but still retired 15 of 17 during one stretch.

Andrew McCutchen snapped a 1-1 tie with an eighth-inning RBI on a fielder's choice before Frazier's bomb an inning later sealed it.

Eickhoff battled back the Nationals' unsafe offense, but Anthony Rendon tagged him with an RBI ground rule double in the first to tie the game immediately, and Bryce Harper nailed a pitch that made it 3-1 for most of the contest.
