The past few months have been a whirlwind of terror for schoolgirl Bethany Platt on Coronation Street as viewers have watched her be groomed by her evil boyfriend Nathan Curtis. Despite Nathan promising Bethany that he will intervene if she is uncomfortable at any stage, Bethany is taken through to the bedroom and suffers a horrific rape ordeal.

In Wednesday's episode, Nathan and Mel lie to Bethany that the salon is in financial trouble as they sow the seeds of a cruel exploitation trick.

Lucy Fallon's boyfriend and dad can not watch her character's grooming scenes in "Coronation Street". She is left horrified at the end of the night when she realises she is expected to sleep with Neil too. Bethany's like: "No, this is so weird". He picks her up and takes her into the bedroom.

After Gary and Nathan come to blows, Sarah is at a loss as Bethany refuses to see Nathan's true colours and she hangs on his every word as he convinces her that Gary is risky and she shouldn't be around him.

My mum watches it but I don't think my dad can watch it at the moment. She's confused and thinking, "Does he know what's happened?' She doesn't know what's going on and feels that she's cheated on him". He's quite cool with her and part of her wants to talk about it, so she mentions it and Nathan's like, 'Okay, shut up.

But when his sick friend tries to lure Bethany away from the party and into the bedroom, she looks to Nathan to come to her rescue.

Nathan and Bethany agree on a signal for if Bethany is uncomfortable but he tells her to keep up the good work and she is thrilled to have pleased him and is eager to ensure he is happy with her. There's a scene where she says: "'You were supposed to love me, why would you be okay with me sleeping with someone else?'" "It makes you more desirable when other men want you".

"His influence on her is so big because she's alienated her from all her friends and family".
