On Tuesday, Duke announced that guard Grayson Allen will return to the school for his senior year in 2017-2018.

"I'm a firm believer that when something feels right, you go with it", Allen said.

The preseason ACC Player of the Year wasn't even named to one of the postseason All-ACC teams. Duke was a No. 2 seed in the NCAA tournament and was beaten in the second round by eventual Final Four team SC. He's averaged 13.6 points per game during his Duke career. He is a career.435 shooter from the floor and.386 from outside the arc, while his career.830 free throw percentage ranks seventh in program history (min. 200 FTM). He was a finalist for numerous national awards after averaging 21.6 points, 4.6 rebounds and 3.5 assists per contest; he was also just the ninth player to lead the Blue Devils in both scoring and assists in the same season. He tripped Elon's Steven Santa Ana during their December 21 game, then threw a temper tantrum on the bench.

He was called for a technical foul after slamming the ball in disgust after being called for a foul against Clemson in the ACC tournament and was benched for most of the first half by Krzyzewski.

Despite the controversy, there is no doubt that - when he's fully focused on basketball - Allen is one of the most talented players in college basketball.

His return will help steady a roster that has seen the departure of Harry Giles, Luke Kennard and Jayson Tatum to the NBA Draft, while Chase Jeter and Sean Obi elected to transfer.
