At the heart of the home side's display was a virtuoso performance from midfielder Ander Herrera, with the Spanish worldwide setting up the first goal and scoring the second.

Eddie Howe's Bournemouth, who are 16th in the league, have slipped among the relegation threatened sides after a 4-0 defeat at Spurs on Saturday extended their winless run to four games. Eventually, the game ended 2-0 in favor of the red devils. It's because those guys demonstrated more ambition, desire, not to mention the highest motivation to become an indisputable victor.

In this case, the fault is the coach. "It means the coach was not able to transfer the right concentration, desire, ambition to win this game".

The former Real Madrid and Chelsea manager replaced the Dutchman and the 27-year-old has since been a regular inclusion in United's starting XI, making 37 starts across all competitions this season.

"I like to demand a lot of myself because I feel I can give more and more and more to the team. They are feeling the possibility to write the history".

Jose Mourhinho's side, who face a Europa League quarter-final second-leg meeting with Anderlecht on Thursday, sit fifth in the table, four points behind rivals Manchester City having played a game fewer.

"The satisfaction [of winning the game] is for different reasons", said United manager Jose Mourinho. The league is open and we have a 50 percent (probability) to win the league.

United are still fighting on both fronts as they bid to secure Champions League football next season, but Mourinho raised a number of eyebrows by resting the likes of Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Henrikh Mkhitaryan for today's visit of the Premier League leaders.

He said: "Normally you win the title if you are 22 matches unbeaten", he added".

"Why? Everybody knows why. Let's hope it's an off day and it doesn't cost us too much".

The Blues' run-in also looks a little kinder, with home games against Southampton, Middlesbrough, Watford and Sunderland - but a real test to come at Everton.
