Brighton & Hove Albion have gained promotion to the Premier League from the Championship for the very first time.

With promotion set to earn them around £200m, Bloom says the club will continue to invest, but it will be in moderation.

Bloom, despite his reputation as a poker player, is also a keen businessman and bears strong ties to the club historically - his family were involved with Brighton dating back to the 1970s when his grandfather Harry was vice-chairman.

Just don't be surprised when they come up to SE25 and leave questioning why they couldn't topple a team who are a solid, established Premier League team.

"I'm incredibly proud of the way that they bounced back".

Twenty years ago, English soccer club Brighton and Hove Albion were languishing in the fourth and lowest tier of the English Football League pyramid, at risk of losing their place in the league altogether.

Hughton has been dismissed twice from Premier League jobs, first from Newcastle and then at Norwich, but on both occasions the sackings were fairly harsh. "To put together the run they have, at this stage of the season, is incredibly hard, and they deserve every bit of credit", Hughton said.

A seventh successive win ensured Brighton will finish in the two automatic promotion places in the League Championship.

Knockaert left Leicester in 2015 for a seven-month spell with Belgian club Standard Liege before Brighton manager Chris Hughton brought him back to England. He said: "We have to strengthen, that goes without saying, but we're not looking to spend huge amounts".

I've seen a fair bit on social media that Brighton are "coming for us" which is lovely, considering we've been waiting for that for four years.

They will not be able to get away with some of the subpar performances in which they've grabbed results this season, but this is a team who have been preparing for the Premier League for some time.

Brighton thought they had a second just moments later but Dunk's close-range header was ruled out by the linesman for push, shortly after Jake Buxton had denied Hemed with a late-ditch clearance.

He added: "We've got to consolidate, The gaffer is the flawless man to do that".
