Former Leicester City boss Claudio Ranieri has finally broken his silence on his sacking, which took place earlier this year.

When Leicester City sacked Ranieri, the club was struggling to keep the head above the water.

Reports that came out at the time suggested that a number of senior players had called for him to be given the sack after becoming disenchanted with his methods.

"I don't believe it", he said.

"There's never been any arguments or hard feelings".

"I don't want to tell (who)".

When asked who those people might have been, he said: "I am a serious man, a loyal man".

Carragher said he was "devastated" for Ranieri after he was sacked just two weeks after Leicester offered him their "unwavering support".

The Foxes are in Madrid for their Champions League quarter-final clash against former finalists Atletico Madrid tomorrow night.

Keeper Kasper Schmeichel said: "I haven't seen his interview".

They were beaten 2-1 in what turned out to be Ranieri's last game in charge, but Jamie Vardy's away goal helped the Foxes subsequently go through 3-2 on aggregate. It is a shame the circumstances, I would much rather have Wes ready to play. The players got to experience something totally different.

Kante has become one of the best central midfielders on the planet since moving to England from Caen, but Ranieri admitted he didn't know how to get him into the team initially.

"Leicester will be in my heart for all of my life because I won something in Europe, but never the title. That's his way, he is a natural leader and I think it is great he is there with us at every game, leading with his influence".

Ranieri said assistant Craig Shakespeare, in charge until the end of the season was not to blame for his dismissal.
