Anyone intrigued by the opening sequences of 2013's Man Of Steel, which feature Cameron Crowe as Jor-El on Krypton prior to its destruction, should find Syfy's new pilot, Krypton, an opportunity to delve even further into world of Superman's birth. We'll keep you posted if and when the network nails down a specific due date but for the time being, you can share your knee-jerk reactions to this mythic trailer via the comments section below.

The first teaser trailer for Syfy's upcoming DC Comics drama, Krypton, a Superman prequel series, has been released. At this point in the planet's history, the House of El is in disgrace, and Sel-El needs to lead a rebellion against the corrupt ruling class.

From The Flash to Arrow, Legends of Tomorrow to Vixen, the roster of DC shows now populating the small screen is a crowded one, but Krypton takes one giant leap beyond the Arrowverse to focus on Seg-El, the mythic grandfather to the Man of Steel.

The Syfy series will be produced by Warner Horizon Television and is based on characters created by Jerry Siegel and Joe Shuster, published by DC Comics.
