They are now playing at a new field, SunTrust Park.

Atlanta Braves outfielder Ender Inciarte was front-and-center in Friday's 5-2 victory over the San Diego Padres, going 2-for-4 with a two-run homer and two runs scored.

Fireworks before and after the main event.

The Yankees won their sixth straight despite tying a team record by fanning 17 times. The matchless voice of Timothy Miller on "God Bless America" during the seventh-inning stretch.

Groundbreaking in September of 2014 saw Major League Baseball Commissioner Rob Manfred in attendance, making clear his expectations that Suntrust Park would become a crown jewel of baseball. "We were really pumped in the dugout".

Not that Inciarte's blast or the pageantry throughout was necessarily the highlight of the night for one very lucky Ringgold, Ga., couple. The Braves were 13-for-63 (.206) with runners in scoring position over the first eight games.

In addition to Jones, Braves legends Hank Aaron, Bobby Cox, Tom Glavine, Dale Murphy, Phil Niekro, John Smoltz were present. Or, worse, "maybe I would've gone out there and pitched through it and maybe hurt myself more", Cahill said. "I was born 10 years too early". He was a member of Team USA in the 1996 Summer Olympics at Fulton County Stadium before pitching in the majors at Turner Field.

On the night the Braves christened their new stadium, Atlanta's lead-off man assured that he'll be the answer to several future trivia questions. And a lot of them belonged the Ender Inciarte.

Of course, the Braves being the Braves, such euphoria was short-lived.

The Braves are 4-6 after a 1-6 start, while the Padres (5-7) have lost three in a row.

His hit scored Bryce Harper, who led off with a single and then scored on the hit down the left field line.

The offense had a slow start going without a hit for four innings before Brandon Phillips started a rally that turned into a blowout win in the later innings. Aaron had a nice underhand toss, and the crowd loved seeing him out there.

Chris Archer (2-0) gave up one run in 5 2/3 innings, ending his 11-game losing streak against the Red Sox.

"Once you let Bartolo get deep in the count, he starts pitches that look like strikes that really aren't", Green said. The Braves also have a new Aaron statue at the park. The 70-year-old Vietnam veteran graduated from Farragut High School in 1967, only to wind up in Vietnam as a member of the Marines' 7th Engineers by February 1968.

Banks, who lives in the Cascade Road area in Fulton County, was anxious about how he'd to the games once the stadium was moved.

"Obviously I didn't have my best stuff", Teheran said.

Witzel said he wasn't a regular at Turner Field but bought season tickets at the new park. His favorite place to watch a game is loaded with character: Boston's Fenway Park. It's so much more than a baseball stadium.

A small town with a state-of-the-art stadium.

The night got off to a rocky start.
