British Prime Minister Theresa May announced on Tuesday that she wanted to hold a snap election on June 8 which she hopes will give her a stronger personal mandate at home and in divorce talks with the European Union leaders.

According to the Gofundme page, the money will be used to support the efforts of a "group of campaigners and public-minded people who are crowdfunding to get people to use their vote tactically", although the cash will not be used to pay any salaries.

It asks for MPs to keep an open mind and feel free to reject the final deal if it doesn't suit Britain's purposes.

Gina Miller, the businesswoman who brought the High Court challenge against Theresa May's right to trigger Article 50, is taking another stand against a "hard Brexit" by launching a tactical voting initiative.

May, who has promised lawmakers would have their say on the final Brexit deal, has already ruled out seeking membership of the European single market and said she will seek to impose limits on EU immigration.
