Boston Celtics point guard Isaiah Thomas scored 33 points in his team's 106-102 Game 1 home loss to the Chicago Bulls on Easter Sunday, just one day after his young sister, Chyna Thomas, died in a auto accident. At rear is Bull's guard Rajon. Now the Bulls are leaning on him in this first round series against his former team, the Celtics.

But they did more than just win one game.

Their output has caught up to those desires so far during the postseason.

Isaiah Thomas of the Boston Celtics plans to play in Game 2 of a first-round National Basketball Association playoff series against the Chicago Bulls on Tuesday night before heading to Washington state to be with his family and help complete funeral arrangements for his sister, Celtics coach Brad Stevens said Monday.

Chicago again used its big men to push the Celtics out of the paint and was quicker to the ball in a lot of 50-50 situations.

It didn't work - Chicago pulled down 11 offensive rebounds in the first three quarters Tuesday and had 14 second-chance points. On Tuesday, he had 11 points, 14 assists, nine rebounds and five steals. "It's not ideal, but we feel like we can bounce back", said Jae Crowder. The Bulls will look to carry their momentum back home to Chicago where they will play Games 3 and 4. The Celtics studied more than their normal amount of film in an effort to keep the Bulls from cleaning the offensive glass.

That's right. Rondo and MJ are the only two Chicago players to have such a game over the last 30 years.

You can expect Boston to do a much better job of limiting Portis as he had the game of his life as he scored 19 points on 8 of 10 shooting with 9 rebounds.

And the longest tenured Boston player couldn't disagree as he saw his teammates hold their heads down en route to the East top team falling into a 0-2 hole against the eighth-seeded Chicago squad. Due to their inability to finish plays, Boston's opponents averaged 44.5 rebounds a night with 10.8 coming on the offensive glass. "It's one game at a time, one possession at a time".

The Bulls answered several runs by the Celtics in the second half when they had closed to within single-digit deficits. "Rajon, when he got back in there, I thought was really, really good with that second group".

"I had the luxury of playing with a guy named LeBron [with the Heat], and we did the same thing when we played [the Bulls] and Derrick Rose [in the Eastern Conference finals in 2011]", Wade said. "We just gotta rebound".

Six Bulls finished in double figures, with Robin Lopez scoring 18, Paul Zipser 16 off the bench and Nikola Mirotic 13.

Los Angeles stormed to a 12-point lead in the first quarter, reeling off the kind of dunks that earned the team's Lob City moniker years ago.

Patrick Patterson added two free throws for Toronto, while the Bucks were left to regret five missed shots to end the game.

The Celtics have failed to get past the first round in their past three playoff appearances, and are 3-6 SU in their past nine home playoff matchups. We knew they'd come out and play with great energy.

"You play the 82 games to learn a little bit about yourself", he said.

"I just tried to stay aggressive".

NOTES: Celtics G Avery Bradley was reportedly deciding whether or not he will accompany G Isaiah Thomas to Tacoma, Wash., on Wednesday for the funeral of Thomas' younger sister, Chyna.

"I could hear Rondo, 'Yeah, they gave up". The credit for this team sticking together through injuries, through everything to put us in the position to make the playoffs, it goes to everyone.
