The Bayern shot-stopper and Germany captain suffered the injury while trying unsuccessfully to stop Cristiano Ronaldo netting his third goal in the 109th minute at the Bernabeu as defending holders Real won 4-2 after extra-time on Tuesday.

Cristiano Ronaldo defies categorisation and is in "a league of his own", Real Madrid head coach Zinedine Zidane has said.

Cristiano Ronaldo completed a flawless hat-trick to register his 100th Champions League goal but his second and third strikes both appeared to be offside.

"I have no preference in the draw, we are in good form", Marcelo told Real Madrid's official website.

A fourth on the break from substitute Marco Asensio in the 112th minute completed a 6-3 aggregate win for the Spanish league leaders as former Real boss Carlo Ancelotti endured a miserable return to the Bernabeu.

Atletico Madrid captain Gabi wants Barcelona to complete another improbable comeback against Juventus and continue Spanish dominance of the Champions League.

"In the first half we had many opportunities and we could score a goal or two, also in the second half too".

"Pique seemed to react on Twitter by posting "..." following Ronaldo's 76th-minute goal as TV replays showed the goal to be offside.

The Mirror report that the Bayern number one actually broke his foot in the build-up to Ronaldo's third goal, which certainly explains how CR7 - and minutes later, Marco Asensio - were able to score past him easily.

Back-up goalkeeper Sven Ulreich now has a huge task ahead of him, with a DFB Pokal semi-final against Borussia Dortmund next week. "We deserved to go through".

However, the loss of midfielder Arturo Vidal to a harsh red card in the 84th minute gave Madrid the advantage, which they ruthlessly pressed home during the additional 30 minutes, scoring three times without reply.

"I know it can happen in football, but not so often at this level".

"The big teams are Bayern, Barcelona, Real Madrid, especially in the financial aspect", he said. "I feel proud of the team and we have to keep working like we do in order to get to the final".
