"But I am not concerned (about Barcelona) actually, because we give the boys enough perspective that they really want to be part of this for the next few years".

We take a look at the key talking points from the match.

Liverpool eventually broke the deadlock in the 46th minute thanks to Firmino who headed in James Milner's free-kick. He showed good movement and anticipation to get his goal. Assisting goals is by no means his objective but if he doesn't make that flick from the free-kick against West Brom then Roberto Firmino doesn't score what turned out to be the winning goal.

"In the last three games, you can see immediately, when he is in a little bit of shape, how big the difference is he can have in a game".

Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp has praised striker Divock Origi's performance following their "wonderful" 1-0 win over West Brom. The Reds relied on a more defensive outlook for the game and it worked a treat, with Klopp's side picking up a hugely important 3 points at the end of 90 minutes. It was another crucial moment in Liverpool's bid to return to the Champions League, with the result marking the clubs first win at The Hawthorns since 2011.

The Brazilian global bagged his 11th Premier League goal of the season to emerge as the star performer for the visitors, while Simon Mignolet deserves credit for his second-half save in particular to deny Matt Phillips to preserve Liverpool's lead as he put in a great performance too.

Matt Phillips had the best chance to equalise but was denied by Simon Mignolet having been put through on goal by Salomon Rondon. "He had a hard few weeks, because he didn't feel well after Stoke", Klopp told BBC Sport.

Mignolet's attitude is phenomenal.

In second-half stoppage time, West Brom sent goalkeeper Ben Foster up for a corner but Liverpool claimed possession. Was brilliant for an hour or so, but understandably faded in the latter stages and was fortunate not to be punished when he lost the ball cheaply on the edge of his own penalty area in the last minute.

West Bromwich Albion boss Tony Pulis has suggested that despite his side's improved showing this season, he requires significant transfer funds in the summer. A somewhat slow start from Liverpool led to a period of control for them in the middle of the match, culminating in a Roberto Firmino goal just before the half.

Liverpool ended the hoodoo at the flawless time.

He added: "At Stoke it was different, we went to Europe and got to a cup final".
