Many of his loved ones gathered to say goodbye on Wednesday, including his former Chappelle's Show costar Dave Chappelle, George Lopez, D.L. Hughley, Cedric the Entertainer and Eddie Griffin.

As previously reported, the late comedian, Eddie Murphy's older brother, died at an NYC hospital following an ongoing battle with leukemia.

Cedric the Entertainer posted a photo on Instagram of the group of comedians wearing black at what appeared to be a funeral home.

"Tonite we joined Family n Friends to pay tribute and lay to rest our brother the Legendary #charliemurphy @neilbrennan @realdlhughley @georgelopez @eddiegriffin @donnellrawlings @davechapelle (sic)", he wrote. "RIP keep doing it big", Rawlings captioned a different photo of the friends. His family and friends would check on him often and believed that he was on the mend.

"Thank you for the outpouring of condolences and prayers". His film credits included Night at the Museum, Mo' Better Blues, The Players Club, Harlem Nights, and Norbit, in which he voiced Floyd the Dog.
