It's love- so it doesn't matter, ' she said.

The newlyweds are now on honeymoon in Gran Canaria.

'They did their vows in a lake side room then we had a meal, speeches and danced to a disco.

Jimmy romanced Amy Phillips, 59 years his junior and asked her to marry him in the September of 2015 and they tied the knot last week in Southport, Merseyside.

Amy's mother Mary commented: "The age gap doesn't bother them or us at all".

Her father added: 'It was a really happy day - it was quite emotional - Amy looked attractive. "We are delighted and very proud", she told The Sun.

Posting on Facebook at the time of the proposal, Jimmy wrote: 'Thank you again to all our lovely friends on Facebook for all the wonderful messages and kind thoughts.

And although Chuckle brothers Barry, 72, and Paul, 69, were not at the wedding - there were a few famous faces as Mary added: 'Bobby Dennis the comedian came and so did Bernie Clifton.

Jimmy was a regular on the BBC kids show, alongside his younger brothers, but neither of them attended the wedding.

Apparently the couple did things very traditionally, with Jimmy even asking Amy's 70-year-old father John for permission to propose.

'It was a really happy day - it was quite emotional - Amy looked lovely.

"It just went from there. Amy looked handsome. We were very proud".

ChuckleVision ran from 1987 to 2009, helmed by Barry, 71, and Paul, 68.

However, fourth brother Brian, 82, did attend.

His wife Valerie sadly passed away nearly seven years ago, and speaking about his unlikely relationship with his new bride after their engagement, the comedian said: "Amy has been a fan of Chucklevision all of her life and commented on something I posted".
