In January, when she would have been two months pregnant, she defeated sister Venus Williams to win the Women's Singles competition at the 2017 Australian Open, her seventh overall Australian Open title and 23rd Grand Slam title.

Serena Williams announced her pregnancy Wednesday by sharing a photo of her baby bump on Snapchat. She is the most recent female player to have held all four major singles titles simultaneously (2002-03 and 2014-15) and the third player to achieve this record twice after Rod Laver and Steffi Graf. She won her first Grand Slam singles title at age 17 in 1999 and has spent more than 300 weeks at No. 1.

She got engaged to Reddit co-founder Alexis Ohanian back in December 2016, and now it looks as though she has even more great news. Serena Williams is pregnant, and she shared a great selfie on Snapchat to announce the exciting news.

The renowned athlete and fashion designer is now engaged to Reddit co-founder, Alexis Ohanian, who proposed to Williams back in December 2016.

The 35-year-old, who will return to the No. 1 ranking in the world next week, later deleted the photo. "20 weeks", she wrote, revealing that she's about five months into her pregnancy.

At the time she blamed the withdrawal, which meant she lost her number one world ranking to Angelique Kerber, on a knee injury.

A spokesperson for the tennis player has confirmed that she and fiancé Alexis Ohanian are expecting their first child. Twice Wimbledon champion Petra Kvitova is still recovering from the effects of a awful assault at her home, which damaged her hand.

Serena Williams just shut down anyone who considers women "the weaker sex".

"Hopefully I'll be able to mature one of these days, get serious, and at least have them pretty fast".

"To escort me to my very own 'charming.' Back to where our stars first collided".

"It feels good." Williams said about the engagement last January.
