The worker, who recognized Stephens as the wanted Cleveland Facebook killer, is credited with stalling him at the drive-thru window Tuesday so authorities could have extra response time.

"I looked out and I'm like, 'It sure does look a lot like him, '" DuCharme remembered.

The mother of Steve Stephens, who posted a video of him killing an elderly man, said her son had "snapped and turned into a whole different person".

Luckily, Lane has also received plenty of support from family and friends - and even the victim's family members! They said they know Lane did nothing wrong.

Lane said it has been hard watching her name dominate social media, where her connection to the killer became a topic of discussion over the weekend. While the auto was spinning out of control Stephens pulled a pistol and shot himself in the head, Pennsylvania State Police said. Stephens said in a separate video on Facebook on Sunday that he had already killed a dozen others.

Lane said she and Stephens dated for a while, and had discussed getting engaged, but they broke up and she urged him to seek help for gambling issues.

Stephens was found dead as a result of a self-inflicted gunshot wound after being spotted by police in Western Pennsylvania, officials say. He shot himself in the head after the vehicle spun and came to a stop, police said.

After his suicide, Pennsylvania State Police recovered a.45-caliber Glock handgun, believed to be the murder weapon, in Stephens' auto, and, according to a law enforcement source, a.380-caliber pistol at the home of his ex-girlfriend, Joy Lane.

"We're grateful that this has ended", Cleveland Police Chief Calvin Williams said.

He added: "There are a lot of things about this that we don't know".

But Godwin's daughters, Tonya R. Godwin-Baines and Debbie D. Godwin, wanted to reassure Lane that Stephens' actions were not her fault and that she shouldn't blame herself.

Godwin will be laid to rest this Saturday.
