Werenski saw on Twitter that a fan wore a shirt displaying a photo of Werenski's brutal facial injury to Game 4 of the Blue Jackets-Penguins Stanley Cup playoff series, Werenski rewarded the fan by giving him an autographed jersey, according to Fox Sports Ohio.

Werenski left the game for medical treatment but later returned, only to sit out the overtime because severe swelling prevented him from seeing out of his right eye.

Markus Nutivaara, William Karlsson and Boone Jenner each had a goal and an assist and Columbus held on to beat Pittsburgh on Tuesday, avoiding a sweep in the best-of-seven playoff series. While on the power play, Guentzel played the puck off the boards, and got his geometry on, banking the puck off the inside pad of Sergei Bobrovsky.

Johnson scored first for the Blue Jackets at 11:46 of the opening period when he launched a wrister from the right point into traffic that bounced off Sidney Crosby's skate and into the net.

The Columbus Blue Jackets are facing elimination on Tuesday night at the hands of the Pittsburgh Penguins, who are up 3-0 in their first-round series. Not too shabby. His hat-trick securing, overtime goal gave the Pens the win in Game 3 and was the first ever three-goal night in a postseason game from a rookie in Penguins history. It was a proverbial nail in the coffin for a Blue Jackets team that, outside of the first few minutes of Game 3, has not looked terribly impressive.

The obvious reason for the defending champions being the underdog in this one, is the thought that Columbus will play better at home and make this a series, but I'm not so sure that will be the case.

Blue Jackets defenseman Kyle Quincey was a healthy scratch the first three games but made an early impact with a jarring hit on Guentzel in the first period. "You see it all through the series throughout the League", said Tortorella.

CALGARY, Alberta - Corey Perry scored 1:30 into overtime and the Anaheim Ducks rallied from three goals down to take a 3-0 series lead in the first-round series. He scored with 2:27 left in the third period of Game 2 to give St. Louis the 2-1 win. Remember when we were letting Tanner Glass and Joe Vitale play in playoff games? It just seems like, despite knowing better, Columbus can't resist the urge to hulk up and play tough-guy hockey. They still have Fleury, who, despite having his weakest outing of the series last night, does not cut the profile of a man who will wilt after one bad game.

Werenski's Blue Jackets trail the Penguins 0-3 in the series. "We've got to stay in the moment". Instead of pylons, the Penguins center used Blue Jackets' defenders. The goal was the third in 23 playoff games for Parayko, who scored four goals in 81 games this season.
