Raptors need to find another level in Milwaukee

The Toronto Raptors evened their best-of-seven series with the Milwaukee Bucks at a game apiece, pulling out a 106-100 game two victory on Tuesday night at Air Canada Centre.

The Raptors were not very good at all in Game 1, failing miserably in the one area they could not afford to be lackadaisical in, and that would be getting back to build a wall of bodies in front of Giannis Antetokounmpo.

Milwaukee wants to force Kyle Lowry and DeRozan into making bad decisions. I knew there were five seconds on the shot clock and I wanted to get to my spot. "We went on the road and took care of business". "Malcolm (Brogdon) doesn't seem like a rookie at all, and Thon (Maker) has improved so much this year".

But the Bucks thrived with him and they thrived without him.

"Our energy has gotten up; we're playing harder".

The four breezy dunks, the game-altering block. However, it showed an impressive amount of resilience and despite the Raptors often leaping ahead with bursts of threes, Milwaukee continued to battle back.

The Bucks will be sporting their Fear the Deer jerseys and will play on their alternate Fear the Deer court. Of course, they're going up against a more veteran Raptors team, but Milwaukee believes in their young guys. Poeltl kept up with Greg Monroe at times and Wright made several hustle plays and acted as a facilitator as well.

It happened twice in Game 2 as the Raptors opened the lead up to 13 and then suddenly fell back on lazy habits.

The Bucks should feel good about themselves, however. His 18 points were crucial to the Bucks staying in the game. "We did the right things, we had the right plays".

Toronto shot better from distance in Game 2 than it did from the field, underscoring the need for Valanciunas to step up. After taking a quick 1-0 lead in a fantastic Game 1, the Bucks messed around and lost Game 2. Smaller point guards obviously can't stop him, and he's way too fast for plodding centers to take on when he attacks off the dribble and soars past to the rim.

He was much better in Game 2, going 6 for 12, including 2 of 5 from long range. Dellavedova was also a non-factor.

Still, the Bucks tied up the score with just a few minutes left in the game and ended up losing by six points when all was said and done. Jason Kidd should also probably refrain from playing Spencer Hawes the rest of this series. It created different looks for the Bucks defense, and helped keep their own rhythm. It's just a suggestion. Nobody doubts that Cleveland will win, but you have to wonder if IN can make this a series as they come back home. Today's game should be a proper test of both team's mettle. When it comes down to it though, the Raptors are simply better. Their bench is better.

Of course, Giannis can't win this series by himself, and no one should act like it's close to finished after just one game. Toronto led 55-52 at the break.
