The 720,000 Galaxy S8 phones were ordered in the first 7 days, which is quite a large number considering that South Korea has just over 50 million people.

Mobile business chief Koh Dong-jin said the S8, which begin sales in South Korea, the United States and Canada on April 21.

Samsung will announce the Indian availability and pricing details on April 19. Rumors suggest that Samsung might take pre-orders from major e-commerce sites from the same day itself. Samsung's next-generation Galaxy Note 8 smartphone could be the best phone the company has ever built when it unveils later this year. Both the Galaxy S8 and the S8+ come with the display curved towards the side edges with bezels on top and bottom.

On the other hand, the LG G6 is already introduced with a 5.7-inch full-version display. Both the phones come with QHD+ resolution. With the Galaxy S8 featuring a radical design with its Infinity display, it will be interesting to see how Samsung adopts that, or if at all it does, into the device. Though, the USA variants of the Galaxy S8 and the S8+ come with Qualcomm's latest Snapdragon 835 processor. After Apple, Huawei, and LG launched flagship handsets with a dual-camera setup, Samsung was also tipped to do the same. In India, the Exynos variants are expected to launch. There's 64/128GB storage on board along with 256GB expandable microSD card slot.

The original report also reveals that the Galaxy S8 Active is codenamed "Cruiser", speculating how that name could imply it will carry a larger battery than the regular device as that ship classification denotes vessels designed for traversing distant waters. Out of the box, the devices will run on Android 7.0 Nougat. Buyers can pre-order the Sprint Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8 Plus through the online store of Samsung, and besides the eCertificate, they will receive a free VR headset as well.

In a statement made to The Verge, Samsung acknowledged that Bixby Voice won't be available in time for the Galaxy S8's launch in the US.
