Samsung the South Korean smartphone maker has finally unveiled its much-awaited flagship, the Galaxy S8 and S8 Plus in the Indian market. Other details about the handset are not available, but we'll update you as soon as we get to hear more about it. This will feature curved dual-edge display, 18.5:9 aspect ratio and minimal bezels present on the bottom and top. Despite having a lovely looking display, some global users are complaining about the weird 18:5:9 aspect ratio. Dropping the iconic home button in the latest devices, Samsung has opted for an nearly bezel-less front design with a screen-to-body ratio of 83 percent. They have 8MP auto-focus front camera.

The hardware is one place where the U.S. variant of the S8 differs from the S8 launched in India.

The Galaxy S8 is powered by a 3000mAh battery while the bigger Galaxy S8+ comes with a 3500mAh battery. It has a 4GB RAM and a 64GB internal storage which can be expandable upto 256 GB. The home button has been shifted beneath the "infinity display". Moreover, Samsung's AI based virtual assistant "Bixby" has made its place in the smartphone this time.

Both the smartphones come with IP68 rating which adds water and dust resistance.

It's no secret that Android, Google's homegrown operating system for most portable smart devices out there, is becoming better and better with each new variant. "The Galaxy S8 and S8+ provide heightened security and privacy, with biometric authentication, including a fingerprint scanner, iris scanning technology, and facial recognition so users can quickly and effortlessly unlock their Galaxy S8 or S8+, offering users more authentication options that can be used interchangeably", Lee explained. Both have fast-charging capability through the USB C port. Both smartphones will be going on sale from May 5, and they will be available on Flipkart, Samsung India e-Store and select offline stores.
