Sounds like a good idea considering it was poor planning on the company's part that led to the situation to begin with. "We can't do that".

Munoz on Tuesday issued another apology, expressing outrage and regret, and promising a "thorough review".

Kentucky physician David Dao was dragged out of the aircraft on Sunday after he refused to deboard the overbooked flight.

Likewise, Chicago's aviation department has said only that one of its employees who removed Mr Dao did not follow proper procedures and has been placed on leave.

Dao was being treated for his injuries at a Chicago hospital.

Two more officers involved in dragging a United Airlines passenger off a plane have been placed on administrative leave, according to a statement provided to Yahoo News. The request comes just days after the world witnessed that now viral video of a doctor being forcibly dragged off a plane in Chicago to make room for a flight crew trying to get to Louisville.

In an Oval Office interview with the Wall Street Journal, Trump suggested that this kind of incident could be avoided in the future if carriers remove the upper limits on vouchers they offer passengers in return for giving up their seats.

Oscar Munoz said "this will never happen again", adding that the last Sunday incident, which knocked $1 billion off the firm's share price, was a "system failure". Munoz said he needs to give frontline managers better resources and policies, so they can use better common sense.

Beset with a continuing public relations nightmare, United Airlines has confirmed that it is compensating all passengers on now-infamous Flight 3411. In the first of what is expected to be a series of protests against United Airlines, Reverend Jesse Jackson and the Rainbow PUSH coalition are planning nationwide boycotts of United.

They lawyers and a relative of Dao plan to talk to the media Thursday.

Also Wednesday, a Chicago alderman said representatives from United and the city's Aviation Department have been summoned before a City Council committee to answer questions about the confrontation at O'Hare International Airport.

The forceful removal of a passenger has seen the airline slammed from all directions.

He was the only passenger removed from the plane, who was later permitted to board again.
