After almost five years, Matt Cain finally ended his April drought.

With the bases loaded and one out, Moore hit a squibbler to the left of Walker, who had a forceout at the plate but threw wildly past catcher Jeff Mathis to allow the game's first run to score. He sat down, waiting for trainer Dave Groeschner with a dazed look on his face. It's good to see him doing well. The Diamondbacks won for the fourth time in six games against San Francisco.

"Overall, I feel good", Posey said. He was a little worn out, it was deep into his outing and I think it just happened to hit David.

Diamondbacks: LHP Robbie Ray, who didn't get a decision against San Francisco last Thursday, is 1-1 with a 3.90 ERA and 37 strikeouts in five career starts vs. the Giants. He held the Cubs to a run on two hits in eight innings, and the Giants bullpen blew a three-run lead in the ninth in a series-clinching loss.

The 0-1 fastball with two outs in the first inning sent the Gold Glove catcher immediately to ground. He struck out five and didn't walk anyone.

Cory Gearin struck out three straight batters to end the inning.

Cain also helped himself at the plate when he doubled and scored on Span's single in the fifth.

The triple extended Lamb's hitting streak to eight games.

"It's nearly an instinct to get up and shake it off", starting pitcher Matt Moore told the San Francisco Chronicle. "He got in a great rhythm. and he just started to really dial in".

"We just thought this was the smart move, especially being a catcher", Posey said. I got out there as quick as I could. He stayed mostly healthy for the Giants last season, appearing in 146 games and hitting.288 with 14 home runs and 80 RBI. On Monday, Moore's exit after allowing three hits was a prelude to Mark Melancon's first save in front of the home crowd.

The Giants observed a moment of silence before the game in memory of Mirian Cepeda, the wife of Hall of Famer Orlando Cepeda.

"(Ray) gave us a quality outing", Arizona manager Torey Lovullo said.

Giants infielder Joe Panik was placed on the disabled list last season for delayed concussion symptoms while Brandon Belt missed 34 games after returning too soon from a 2014 concussion. Veteran outfielder Melvin Upton Jr. was signed to a minor league contract and will work out in Arizona at extended spring training. On Friday Zack Greinke squares off against Clayton Kershaw.
