The Wizards have a 2-0 lead in the best-of-7 series.

After Game One, Millsap made a point of calling out what he considered overly aggressive play from the Wizards - "They were playing MMA (mixed martial arts)", he said.

The Wizards lead the series 2-0 heading into Game 3 at Atlanta on Saturday. Despite being up 2-0, the team is still keeping a game-by-game mentality. Washington has held the Hawks to only 5/29 (17.2%) on catch-and-shoot opportunities overall, way below their 37.5% regular season mark.

"I think we were prepared, because they've played enough with [Millsap] at the five with Howard out of the game, and a lot of times that happens, but that's what they want to do", Brooks said. Gortat has outplayed Atlanta center Dwight Howard in the first two games of the series.

After losses, you don't expect a ton out of guys from their media scrum, especially those that had bad games, but you do hope for a little bit more than three "I don't know" answers, a "no", and an "it's basketball". In Game 1, the lineup combination of Wall, Beal, Porter, Morris, and Gortat saw 25 minutes on the court together, dominating their minutes on the floor. While Howard grabbed 14 rebounds, he scored only seven points and struggled to defend the pick-and-roll. Chants of "Refs, you suck", started in the third quarter and continued through the second half of the game.

Backup G Brandon Jennings accounted for eight consecutive points while Wall rested in the fourth quarter. Atlanta has only made 11 of 45 3-point attempts, and only one player has shot 35% or better in Taurean Prince.

The only player known to be out is Ian Mahinmi, Washington's backup center, who will miss at least Games 3 and 4 with a strained left calf. "The Dwight we seen in the first game, it was probably sleeping Dwight or sick Dwight, and the next game, tomorrow, he's going to be really furious, so it's going to be a much tougher game for us". "He pushes the pace every time he's in the game, which is what we needed".
