The series between the L.A. Clippers and the Utah Jazz is all tied up at one win apiece, and it will shift to Salt Lake City for Games 3 and 4 on Friday and Sunday. He said Thursday that the joint won't heal until he rests it after the playoffs, that he's in significant pain, that he does everything he can to keep the hurting and the distraction it causes him to a minimum.

To start the third quarter the Jazz cut the Clippers' lead to three with a 10-2 run with a unusual sequence of Boris Diaw playmaking, a steal, and sudden burst of offensive confidence until Chris Paul stepped in to stop the bleeding.

By targeting Jordan early and often, the Clippers brought back their "Lob City" brand of high-flying, dunking basketball early in the contest.

"He played a very, very good game", Donavan said.

The Jazz's other Australian, Dante Exum, was left on the bench for the entire game.

The Clippers played defense down the stretch.

Overall in the series, Redick has made 38.5% of his shots, 20.0% of his three-pointers (one for five). All night I was waiting for the Clippers to go on a run and put the game out of reach, but they couldn't do it. They were considerably better in home games and even with a loss tonight, they are set up for a good situation heading into the third and fourth games in this series. LA took its largest lead of the game with 11 minutes, 36 seconds left in the second quarter, at 31-18.

Shortly after the first whistle was heard for the Jazz vs. Clippers Game 1, Gobert aimed to protect the first ball possession by providing a screen on teammate Gordon Hayward. This was due to the Clippers' bigs dominating the paint. Their wing players remained aggressive on the outside, chasing the Clippers off the shooting spot and into the arms of... Without Gobert around to dissuade paint forays, Paul slicied through the defense and drove hard at Derrick Favors, forcing Utah's big man to decide whether to defend the ball or cover Jordan. But that was the only facet of the game they controlled.

Utah's start to this game was their downfall. "I'm sure they'll bounce back, and we've got to be ready to go". He also had 15 rebounds. The Clippers outshot the Jazz 56.1 percent to 40.5 percent in the first half. The shooting guard managed just seven points and took only six shots, converting three, in the opener.

The Clippers don't like playing in Utah, with the altitude, distant airport and devoted fans. This year he was barely over 1.1 (68 dunks in 61 games). The Jazz won the first game against the Clippers, 97-95. They chipped away at the Clippers' lead all game, getting it down to six points in the fourth quarter. That opens things up for the Mavs to go after a player they would otherwise lose out on. They gave me pointers on where to be on the offensive end. "I thought in Game 2, he created points for us". It's a different tune without their Defender of the Year candidate, of course.

Gobert's knee injury is progressing and there are signs of hope that he could play in the series again. Or maybe the Jazz will continue to hound Redick all over the court in an attempt to limit his effectiveness as the Clippers' top outside threat.

Both Blake Griffin and DeAndre Jordon had a field day against the much smaller Jazz frontcourt in the team's 99-91 win.
