"We formally sent a letter to the United Nations, we asked them in that letter to send a delegation in order to investigate what happened in Khan Shaykhun", Assad said in an interview. But it has carried out a number air strikes against suspected arms shipments bound for Assad's ally Hezbollah in Lebanon, and in retaliation to errant fire into the Golan Heights.

A senior Israeli military official said Israeli intelligence believes Syrian military commanders ordered the attack, with Mr Assad's knowledge. Lets pray for President Donald Trump as he faces the North Korean Kim Jong-un with his growing uranium addiction and a program to reach the USA with his nuclear armed rockets.

The cruise missiles were launched from the USS Porter and USS Ross warships stationed in the Mediterranean Sea.

The draft had also called for investigators to visit the Shayrat airbase - bombed by the United States after the attack - to "verify allegations concerning the storage of chemical weapons" there.

The U.S. -led coalition has targeted ISIS munitions depots and weapon-manufacturing sites with airstrikes in Iraq and Syria.

Further slamming the strike, Shaba'an said the U.S. missile strike was a "reckless aggression that took place without investigation", adding that what the United States is doing today reflects "confusion". At least 70 people died in the attack, but responsibility is still unclear.

After the US strike, Russian Federation said it would suspend its participation in a hotline with the United States military to "deconflict" or minimize the risk of mid-air collisions in Syrian airspace, but USA officials said this week that the two militaries continued to communicate. We gave up our arsenal a few years ago. However, doubts soon emerged over whether all of the regime's armaments or production facilities were declared and destroyed.

UK-based chemical weapons expert Dan Kaszeta told the Associated Press that Israel's estimate was conservative, but that the remaining amount was enough to be highly lethal.

Images from the attack on Khan Sheikhoun on April 4 showed victims limp, with pinpoint eyes and frothing mouths, as emergency responders rushed to strip clothes from bodies and hose away chemical substances.

The UN said sarin had been used in that attack, which killed hundreds of people in the Ghouta agricultural belt to the west and east of the capital.
