They all wanted to offer support to teammate Blake Griffin, who had been declared out for the rest of the National Basketball Association playoffs because of a plantar plate injury to his right big toe.

Griffin will be re-evaluated upon the team's return to Los Angeles and will see foot and ankle specialist Dr. Richard Ferkel.

But of course that's all set to change tonight as the Jazz will take the court in Game 3 of their first round series against the Los Angeles Clippers. Now, the Clippers have a 2-1 series lead over the Utah Jazz and will look to Chris Paul to carry this team to the second round where they will face the victor of the Golden State and Portland matchup.

On Saturday morning, Rivers and the Clippers learned that Griffin had been lost not just for one game, nor this one playoff series.

How far can the Los Angeles Clippers go without Blake Griffin?

The Clippers have been without injured backup guard Austin Rivers (strained left hamstring) for the first three games of the playoffs and Rivers said he'll miss Game 4.

The Clippers suffered a big blow with the loss of Blake Griffin, but the Jazz continue to be without Rudy Gobert in the middle as well. We know we got a job to do.

"We let that one slip away", Paul said.

While the Clippers focus on advancing despite the absence of one of their leaders, there is the inevitable question of what the injury might mean for Griffin's future with the franchise. "... I always say unfortunately we've been in those situations before, but guys just stay ready".

"We came here to get back home court".

It had been only two nights since it was Paul who carried his team to victory, scoring nine straight points amid a 15-0 run in L.A.'s Game 3 victory.

Griffin suffered an injury to the plantar plate of his right big toe in the first half Friday and did not return to the game. Derrick Favors had 17 after being held to two in Game 3. He's also looking for the 10th sweep of his career and he's coming off a 41-point, 13-rebound, 12-assist masterpiece as the Cavs pulled off an NBA-playoff-record rally from 25 points down at halftime to win Game 3 on Thursday night. And we told him that.

Johnson scored 28 points, and the Jazz beat the Clippers 105-98 on Sunday night to tie their first-round playoff series at 2-all.

"He just plays the game and obviously for us we try to get him involved as much as we can, especially when he's going like he was in the last quarter". He was plus-12 Friday, and now with Griffin done the Clippers will need him.
