"Jordan and I love being able to give these parents a worry-free night to focus on each other and their relationship, while we get to spend fun time with some incredible kids".

"That's my job", McCarron said of being a backup quarterback.

On Monday, the Cincinnati media had a chance to speak with McCarron on the subject of being traded and McCarron reiterated his stance that he'd like to be a starting quarterback in the National Football League, but, understands that his job is to backup Andy Dalton for the Bengals. You always want your chance to play. I try to keep it; my mindset is football and everything else and just enjoy it.

What would people give to be in A.J. McCarron's situation? I want to play. A lot of people wish they could be in my shoes and get the money we to get to play a game.

He's filed a motion to have his rookie year count toward the four years you need to be unrestricted, but he said he didn't expect to hear anything until 2018.

McCarron still would be open to better offers from other teams.

The 26-year-old McCarron is set to enter the final year of his rookie contract in 2017 before becoming a restricted free agent next offseason.

According to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport, the Bengals want a first-round pick in exchange for the former Alabama signal-caller.

Pat Kirwan of RealFootballNetwork.com reported Tuesday that a trade involving McCarron at the draft is unlikely. To receive an accrued season, a player needs to be at full-pay status for six regular-season games, either on the active roster or one of the reserve lists.

"It's just something they're going to fight on their side, and I'm going to fight on my side to prove why I shouldn't have to have another year", McCarron said. It's what the lawyers and all that will fix out.
