"The Duke and Duchess are delighted to share a new photograph of Princess Charlotte to mark her second birthday tomorrow", the Kensington Palace shared the snap on their official Twitter account.

For Princess Charlotte's first birthday past year, Kensington Palace released four pictures of the little girl.

Royal fans were treated to a new picture of the princess on Monday, with the release of a photograph taken last month by Kate to mark the occasion.

The young royal was first photographed on the day of her birth - May 2, 2015 - when Kate held her daughter outside the private maternity wing of St Mary's hospital, in Paddington, central London, where the princess was delivered.

The artist formerly known as Kate Middleton photographed her daughter in April at their country compound in Norfolk. The cutie rocked a blue dress and matching hair bow during her Canadian debut, but looked JUST as precious during the rest of the trip.

She is officially named Charlotte Elizabeth Diana, in tribute to her late grandmother Diana, Princess of Wales, and her great-grandmother, Queen Elizabeth II.

Trooping the Colour was officially Princess Charlotte's first public appearance.

While in Canada, Princess Charlotte and her brother Prince George enjoyed a fun-filled day at what looked like the best children's party ever, complete with a pony, a dog and a rabbit called Smores.

Visits to the website of British department store John Lewis spiked as parents clamored to get their hands on the £10 jumper Princess Charlotte wears in her birthday photo.

Experts at Brand Finance, a company that specialises in brand valuation have previously predicted that Princess Charlotte will be worth more than £3bn to the United Kingdom economy across her lifetime.

It was there that she was heard saying the word "pop" as she played with a balloon.

Princess Charlotte gave Canada a big wave when the family had to fly back to the UK.

She was last seen with her parents at Christmas time as they made their way to church near the home of her grandparents Michael and Carole Middleton in the Berkshire village of Bucklebury.

It is not the first time Princess Charlotte has proved a trend-setter for children's fashion.

Charlotte is fourth in line to the throne, behind Prince Charles (her grandfather), Prince William and Prince George.
