It's Stenhouse's first-ever pole at Talladega and just his second Monster Energy Series one in his career. But Ricky Stenhouse Jr. gets to say he's a pole victor in 2017.

In the 12-car second round, Stenhouse whooped the field, followed by Earnhardt Jr. I know the guys have been so close at Daytona and Talladega for so many years, so it would be great to do it this last season together.

Junior - Earnhardt Jr. - has six wins at Talladega, including four straight from 2001-03. He won this race just two years ago and had enough speed to start on the outside of Row 1. Fans watching on television will undoubtedly hear the roar of the crowd when Junior takes the lead early on Sunday. They want to show up to work and work harder. (190.780 MPH), Brad Keselowski (190.427 MPH), Matt Kenseth (190.177 MPH), and Trevor Bayne (190.155 MPH).

Worth mentioning: Joey Logano, victor of last weekend's race at Richmond, has finished worse than sixth only once all season, when he crashed at Phoenix and finished 31st.

"I'll never leave the pits again", Miller said Sunday at the GEICO 500.

Dale Earnhardt Sr. was a 10-time victor at Talladega, including a three-time victor of the GEICO 500, then called the Winston 500.

If someone tells you they know what's going to happen at the spring race at Talladega Superspeedway before it happens, they may actually be from the future. Everybody at the race shop needs to keep working hard to build on what we now have and make it even better.

"We plan to keep getting better and continue to bring better race cars to the track and go out there and lay it all on the line like we do every week". He says the atmosphere back at Roush Fenway Racing shop is a great sign of how far the team has come in 2017.

Aric Almirola has earned the third Xfinity Series victory of his career by holding off a hard-charging pack in the closing laps at Talladega Superspeedway.

A caution for debris set up a restart with 11 laps remaining, and they were frantic at the front of the field. Last race: Joey Logano picked up his first win of 2017 at Richmond. Allgaier led 157 of 254 laps before Larson got the best of him down the stretch.

Previous year was downright miserable for Almirola, but 'Dega proved to be a bright spot with an eighth-place finish last fall.

With a victory from the pole at Auto Club Speedway in Fontana, Calif., and four second-place finishes in the Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series this season, the driver of the No. 42 Chip Ganassi Racing Chevrolet has posted an average finish of 6.4 through nine races.
