Man Utd vs Celta Vigo Match Preview

United made eight changes from their Europa League semi-final first leg against Celta Vigo last week in the 2-0 loss to Arsenal on Sunday, a result which put a dent in their hopes of qualifying for the Champions League via the top four.

Arsenal, who beat Manchester United 2-0 on Sunday, will need fourth-placed Manchester City (69 points, 35 games) or third-placed Liverpool (70 points, 36 games) to slip up in their remaining games if they are to secure a Champions League spot for next season.

As for the visitors, Celta Vigo are in torrid form, having suffered five consecutive defeats in all competitions ahead of Thursday's meeting. I didn't give them the match, I tried to win, but we lost. "In this aspect, I don't think there will be a difference between both teams".

Ince told PaddyPower: "Jose Mourinho keeps going on about playing a "weakened" team against Arsenal to save themselves for the Europa League second leg".

"We're aiming to get into a European final, it'll be very important to fight for the only trophy that the club has never won before, and for this group of players".

"The situation is simple; 17 matches in seven weeks with 16 players is impossible". Seventeen matches in seven weeks, April and May.

"I haven't thrown my toys out of the pram". "Of course I want to play football".

"Jose Mourinho, whenever he is in a game that he feels is 50-50 or maybe the opposition have the slight edge on them, his first thought is to nullify, kill the game, "What are they good at?"

At Anfield, Liverpool's James Milner saw his penalty saved by Fraser Forster as his side wasted a chance to bolster their Champions League bid.

More accustomed to competing for Champions League titles, United are bidding to reach the final of Europe's second-tier competition for the first time in their history. I don't think the Old Trafford atmosphere is consistent.

"However he's done that, you've got to look and learn from it".

Ordinarily, I'd be looking to applaud any English side for making the final and in-turn maintaining the extensive number of qualification places in the league, but everything about United's Europa League campaign has rendered them undeserving to take home the crown.

"We lost four players in one week, when we lost [Chris] Smalling and [Phil] Jones in the [England] national team and [Marcos] Rojo and Zlatan [Ibrahimovic] against Anderlecht" in the previous round of the Europa League.
