With a home run in the bottom of the seventh vs. the Angels, the Rangers outfielder notched the third cycle of the young Major League Baseball season.

Gomez sent Jose Valdez's first-pitch heater onto the hill beyond center field. He doubled in the first inning, singled in the third and tripled in the fifth off starter Jesse Chavez (2-4).

He has had three straight multi-hit games, and when he put the Angels on the board with a third-inning homer it was his first extra-base hit since April 12.

The Rangers got even at 1-1 in the bottom of the first on a sacrifice fly by Carlos Gomez.

Rangers: RHP Yu Darvish got an extra day of rest after striking out eight in a win against Kansas City on Sunday.

Chavez (2-2) also feasted against a last-place team in his last start, allowing just one run in six innings against the Blue Jays in a 2-1 Angels win. Darvish buzzed through the Angels for three innings before they got to him for a couple runs in the fourth.

A hit could have tied the game, and a fly ball could have cut the lead in half, but Simmons popped up and Ben Revere grounded out on Darvish's 125th and final pitch. However, with a three-ball count, Odor swung at three consecutive pitches outside the strike zone, striking out to end the inning.

Ramirez doesn't have an ERA that will excite you, but he is coming off a great outing last week and could build on that.

The previous high in baseball this season came from Detroit Tigers right-hander Justin Verlander, who reached the 119-pitch mark in a single game.

Rougned Odor hit a two-out, two-run homer in the fifth inning to break a 2-2 tie.

Nick Martinez allowed five hits and three runs in six innings. "He was attacking hitters, but those guys hit two changeups back up the middle, and that was it".

Rockies 7, Diamondbacks 6: Mark Reynolds hit a two-run single off Arizona reliever Fernando Rodney to tie it in the ninth, and Carlos Gonzalez scored the victor on two wild pitches to lift Colorado to a victory.

Gardner collected his first four RBIs of the season.

Jose Abreu homered twice in his return to the lineup for Chicago.

Salazar (2-2) gave up a double to Robinson Cano in the first, followed by homers on successive pitches to Nelson Cruz and Kyle Seager.

WASHINGTON - Michael Conforto homered twice and drove in three runs as NY beat first-place Washington, winning for the second straight day after a six-game losing streak. Gomez ended up with a game-tying triple. "I'm not going to overthink it". Trout is hitting.100 (2 for 20) against Paxton.

Sunday: Went 1 for 3 with two walks in a 5-2 win over the Rangers.

Pirates 4, Marlins 0: Ivan Nova pitched a three-hitter and Pittsburgh beat Miami. Robertson blew a ninth-inning save opportunity by giving up two runs, then pitched a scoreless 10th. Gomez joins the San Diego Padres' Wil Myers and the Washington Nationals' Trea Turner to accomplish the feat this season.

Angels starter JC Ramirez had averaged 97 miles per hour with his fastball in his first three starts this season.
