Well, Toffees star Barkley's contract at Goodison Park is due to run out next summer and manager Ronald Koeman says he will sell the England global unless he commits his long-term future to the Merseyside club.

And yet Koeman, of course, knows exactly how the midfielder is feeling.

The Everton midfielder is running out of time to sign a new deal, and Arsenal, Tottenham Hotspur and Manchester City have all been mentioned as possible destinations.

"Barkley is certainly going to move to a big club but I don't think it will be City". The £50m fee would make Barkley the most expensive player in Arsenal history and while Arsene Wenger has been willing to spend more money in recent summers, it remains to be seen whether he'd sanction a club record deal.

"The main reason [I left Southampton] was that we did not agree about my a year ago of contract", he said of the events leading to his move to Everton last summer.

The Dutchman stated prior to the match against Watford that the 23-year-old had until the end of this week to make a decision, but there has been no news despite the fact that he played a prominent role in their new kit launch on Tuesday.

And the Gunners are keen on Barkley as they prepare for a summer of change at the Emirates, desperate to return the team to challenging for the title.

Arsenal and Tottenham are both rumoured to be "monitoring" the situation when it comes to the uncertain future of Ross Barkley at Everton, with the Toffees seemingly having named their price for the 23-year-old England worldwide.

Toffees boss Koeman is taking a tough stance with Barkley over his contract, and is not prepared to give him any longer to decide on his future because he wants to plan his squad for next season.
