I think we had 36 shots at goal, the highest in the Premier League.

Arsene Wenger insists Arsenal can still salvage their turbulent season by defying the odds to snatch a Champions League place on the final day.

Arsenal are only in with a shout of the top four thanks to Sanchez, who played through the pain of a thigh injury to see off Sunderland, emphasising how much they need him to sign a new contract. As I always say, it doesn't depend on me. It depends on the club.

"I'm quite surprised. I want to absolutely make sure that we are in there but after that let's get to 75 points and see what happens". If they like that I carry on, or they don't.

"And I think we can have the option to buy more players to be stronger every day".

"[I'm a fan of] Wenger's way of playing, but unfortunately he has not won trophies in recent years".

Sanchez, meanwhile, hit back at the club's supporters for their protests calling for Wenger to leave the club in the summer.

"Apart from the League Cup, where we play always the younger players to give them a chance to develop, we take all the other competition seriously".

The Chilean feels the manager deserves more respect owing to his contribution to the club on and off the pitch.

Koscielny moved to Arsenal from Ligue 1 side Lorient in 2010, and has since developed not only into a senior France worldwide, but also become a mainstay of the north London club's first team under Arsene Wenger.

Sanchez is unhappy with the way his manager has been treated after nearly 21 years at the club.

'For me, it (fan demonstrations) is very bad. "He is the creator of the stadium, the players and style of the club", he added.
