Carrie Underwood may be the reigning CMA Female Vocalist of the Year, but Wednesday night in Nashville, she was mainly a fangirl - thanks to New Kids on the Block.

Besides connecting with her childhood heartthrobs, Carrie also reunited backstage with former American Idol judge Paula Abdul, who is now touring with NKOTB and Boyz II Men.

A longtime New Kids fan, the Jesus Take the Wheel singer jumped at the chance to step onstage with the boy band when the Total Package Tour came to town. She even graced the stage for a very special "Happy Birthday" dedication to Jordan Knight!

The newly announced 2017 Oklahoma Hall of Famer wasn't the only country star power at the Nashville show: Duo Big & Rich surprised audiences with a performance of their hit song "Save a Horse, Ride a Cowboy".

After serenading NKOTB members Jordan Knight and Danny Wood onstage with "Happy Birthday", Carrie said the experience was like being "instantly back in 6th grade". Carrie shared, retweeting a photo with Paula Abdul, who's also on the tour.

"Well, look who I ran into backstage...!" "So cool to watch her do her thing!" she added.

"We chose to bring Carrie Underwood out to sing Happy Birthday to Jordan", Donnie Wahlberg tells the crowd in the above video, capture by a fan.

Carrie became friends with Abdul after winning American Idol, the TV talent show on which the pop veteran was a judge.
