"Sanghamitra" is the upcoming trilingual historic drama staring Shruti Haasan, Jayam Ravi and Arya. In the posters, Jayam Ravi is seen sailing, while Shruti is riding a horse and she seems ready for war.

Thendral Films is producing it.

Taran Adarsh has shared the first look of the movie and tweeted alongside, "Shruti Haasan in #Sangamithra [Hindi, Tamil, Telugu]". The long waiting film Sangamithra is going to come most probably in two parts.

The makers have released two posters.

"Sangamithra", the Kollywoodian project that is pipped to have a pan-Indian appeal (a la "Baahubali"), is one of the costliest ever moves to be made in the country. Bollywood celebs like Deepika Padukone and Aishwarya Rai are also attending the 70th edition of the prestigious Cannes Film Festival, which kicked-off on Wednesday, and Sonam Kapoor is expected to join in soon. It's already known that Shruti underwent a rigorous training for "sword fighting". Sabu Cyril will be the art director for this film.

"Sangamithra is a tale which goes back to 8th century AD, telling the trials and tribulations of the protagonist Sangamithra, whose beauty is unparalleled, and her journey to save her kingdom". Shruti Hassan will play the titular role and the regular shoot will be commenced from August 2017.

The project will be bankrolled by Sri Thenandal Studios and it will have music by double Oscar-winning composer A.R. Rahman.
