The Trump campaign and Russian Federation; impeachment talk

Trump is reacting to the appointment of former FBI Director Robert Mueller to lead the investigation after he fired FBI Director James Comey.

"With all of the illegal acts that took place in the Clinton campaign & Obama Administration, there was never a special counsel appointed!" he said, without providing evidence for those claims.

"No politician in history, and I say this with great surety, has been treated worse or more unfairly", he said on Wednesday to the United States Coast Guard Academy.

She added that Rosenstein declined to provide details about Comey's dismissal because she said Rosenstein is anxious to give wide latitude to former FBI Director Robert Mueller, who Rosenstein appointed as special counsel Wednesday to investigate Russian interference in the 2016 us election.

Rosenstein, the No. 2 Justice Department official, named Mueller amid mounting pressure in Congress for an independent investigation beyond existing FBI and congressional probes into the Russian Federation issue.

"As I have stated many times, a thorough investigation will confirm what we already know - there was no collusion between my campaign and any foreign entity". We urge him to nominate someone with a profile similar to Mueller's, an experienced hand in law enforcement who comes from outside the world of politics and is respected by both parties.Once that's done, it might be possible to focus on some other issues for a while. We applaud Rosenstein for making a decision that could not have been easy, considering that he was appointed by Trump.

U.S. intelligence suspects that Russian President Vladimir Putin orchestrated a sweeping campaign to tilt the vote in the Republican's favor.

Referring to the special counsel recently appointed to investigate Russian meddling in the USA presidential election, including any ties between Moscow and members of Trump's campaign team, Macro said "We're a nation of laws".

Trump went on to dismiss as "totally ridiculous" the notion that he himself may have committed a prosecutable - or even impeachable - offense in recent months, as argued by some critics who suspect him of obstructing the FBI's probe.

"In terms of Congress's role and the public's access to what happened, there's going to be a diminishment here", Graham said.

He called the entire situation surrounding the Russian Federation investigations "a mess". I'm fine with whatever people want to do, but we have to get back to running this country really, really well. Another Republican congressman, Carlos Curbelo, said if any wrongdoing was uncovered, "Those people should be held accountable".

"It seems that long before this witch hunt, there has been a national media bias", Marshall wrote. "I am on a fact-finding mission", he said on CNN.

"The entire thing has been a witch hunt", Trump said during a press conference in the East Room of the White House.

Republican Sen. Richard Burr of North Carolina says ousted National Security Adviser Flynn's attorneys "have not yet indicated their intentions regarding the Senate Intelligence Committee's subpoena" as part of the panel's probe into Russia's meddling in the 2016 presidential election.

According to Merriam-Webster dictionary's website, the first written use of the term "witch hunt" dates to a December 1878 edition of the Tamworth Herald, a newspaper in England.
