Drama erupted over the the assailant's affiliation with both AAP and BJP terming him an activist of the rival party.

Mishra was sacked as a minister and from the primary membership of the party after he accused Kejrwal of accepting bribes and being involved in a land scam. Mishra, who was attacked by an alleged AAP worker on Wednesday, said that the attacker was a memebre of mohalla clinic.

AAP insisted that Ankit Bhardwaj, the man was in police custody, was a office-bearer of the BJP's youth wing.

"He is part of the Bharatiya Yuva Morcha. We don't support violence of any kind", AAP leader Sanjay singh told media on Wednesday. Behind this is a big conspiracy by the BJP.

Mishra, who is on a hunger strike demanding details of foreign trips by five prominent AAP leaders, had visited the ACB office a few days ago and shared evidence related to the tanker scam that dates back to Sheila Dikshit's tenure as chief minister.

Mishra was first removed as a Delhi minister and later suspended from the AAP after he levelled corruption allegations against Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal. He also wrote an open letter to Kejriwal. "It was nearly as if the party was waiting for something like this to happen", Mishra wrote. The police must increase Kapil Mishra's security.

"I am an AAP worker".

Mishra has asked AAP supremo Arvind Kejriwal to tell where party leaders - Sanjay Singh, Ashish Khetan, Satyendar Jain, Raghav Chadha and Durgesh Pathak - got the money from to fund their various foreign trips.

Past year in August, former Delhi Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit was examined by the ACB officials in connection with her alleged involvement in the tanker scam and was also handed over a set of 18 written questions.

Bhardwaj was a chartered accountant by profession and had quit his job to work as a party volunteer, said a senior police officer after his interrogation. He sat on the dharna at his official residence, with a photograph of Mahatma Gandhi in the backdrop.
