Sanchez and Giroud were on target as Arsenal won 2-0 at Southampton.

Arsenal must now win their three remaining games and hope City or third-place Liverpool drop points if they are to secure a 20th successive season of Champions League football.

"It was tough in the first half but then we found the opening and deserved to win".

Collecting Mesut Ozil's pass inside the box, Sanchez feigned to shoot with his right but brought the ball back to his left and calmly slotted past Fraser Forster to mark his 100th Premier League appearance with a goal. He is a slow starter and he gets stronger and stronger.

Giroud settled the contest with a late header and Wenger admitted the form of his frontmen has left him with a selection headache.

"I never questioned the character of my side", said Wenger. "Every time it was interesting, I think, the play".

"I don't know more than you", said the Frenchman, who is still to announce whether he will remain at Arsenal beyond the end of the season.

"We took over in the second half and created many opportunities".

"The goal he scored tonight shows what he's about", Wenger said. You can see that the team is together, fights and is ready for it and we have to recover now physically and see how everybody is for Saturday and see do I need to make some changes.Does Koscielny come back or not?

The hardworking Sanchez has now scored 20 goals in the season, the first Arsenal forward to do so in the last five years, since Robin Van Persie's record 30 goals in the 2011/2012 season.

Can our side push on and put the pressure on our rivals?

"The whole team was dynamic, focused and showed a convincing desire to win the game", Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger told the BBC.

Wenger's opposite number Claude Puel lamented his side's inferior "clinical edge" to the Gunners after squandering the best chances in a tight first period.

Olivier Giroud came off the bench to double the lead in the 83rd with a thumping header, his sixth goal of the season as a substitute. The Potters have struggled at home too, lost two and drawn one of their last four games at the Bet365 Stadium, and Arsenal will fancy their chances as a result.
