Law enforcement staked out on Dunkin' Donuts roof for Special Olympics KS

It's called Cops on Donut Shops, and starting at 5 a.m. officers from across Kansas will climb to the roof of some Dunkin' Donuts restaurants to raise money for Special Olympics.

"Rockford Police Assistant Deputy Chief Pat Hoey says, "[We're] asking people that come through the drive-thru and the store to make a donation to Special Olympics".

Guests donating at least $25 will receive a Law Enforcement Torch Run runner's shirt.

13 News was live at the Topeka Dunkin' Donuts location, near 21st and Gage. "We are truly working together to promote inclusion for all!"

Bloomington's Cop on Top will be on June 7 ahead of the Special Olympics Summer Games in Bloomington-Normal June 9-11. "They have been supportive in other communities around the country and we are excited to bring this program to Kansas".

Rooftops of all 15 Dunkin' Donuts locations across the state are being occupied by local law enforcement until 2 p.m. Friday.
