Officials said such memos could be made available to both the special counsel now overseeing the Russian Federation investigation and Congressional investigators, who might explore whether Trump sought to impede the FBI's work, the Post reported.

James Comey is going to meet with Bob Mueller, who was appointed last week as a special counsel in the Russian Federation investigation, to determine what he can and can and cannot say in that public testimony according to reports. Trump was so clueless as to the possible illegality of his actions that he seems to have had no qualms about dragging in multiple players and making multiple appeals to Comey to end the investigation.

But according to the report, the pair refused to do so because they thought the requests were inappropriate.

Before the special counsel appointment, Mueller worked at the law firm WilmerHale, whose attorneys represent former Trump campaign manager Paul Manafort, first daughter Ivanka Trump and her husband, Jared Kushner, both of whom work in the White House.

"This morning's hearings back up what we've been saying all along", a White House spokesman said in a statement Tuesday.

One official told the Post that the line of questioning from the White House amounted to, "Can we ask him to shut down the investigation?"

Brennan says such classified information typically shared through intelligence channels, not visiting diplomats. General Michael Flynn (ret) President Trumps former National Security Adviser, has refused to testify before House Intelligence Committee making it known that he will invoke the 5th Amendment rather than comply with a subpoena, essentially shutting down the Congregational investigations into the Russian Federation matter. "Are you able to assist in this matter?" one official said of the line of questioning from the White House. The same story also said Comey wrote memos about all his contacts with Trump. Coats also said he had no documents about such a call.

Trump has consistently rejected any suggestion of collusion between his camp and Moscow as "fake news", declaring himself on Thursday the victim of the "greatest witch hunt" in American political history and denying the allegations brought against him.

Mueller resigned from WilmerHale after he was tapped to lead the Russian Federation investigation.

Trump's conversation with Rogers was documented contemporaneously in an internal memo written by a senior NSA official, according to the officials. This may cause some logistical problems in terms of Comey's impending congressional testimony surrounding his firing by Trump, with Congress indicating that they plan on working with Mueller to try to smooth out any potential complications.

Another anonymous source told CNN that part of Mueller's investigation will likely focus on obstruction of justice.

Mueller is expected to meet with Comey in the coming days to discuss what the ousted Federal Bureau of Investigation director can say in public testimony that he is expected to give after Memorial Day.

Both the Senate and the House intelligence committees are investigating Flynn and other Trump campaign associates as part of probes into Russia's election meddling.
