Despite losing the recent ODI series against England, South Africa skipper AB de Villiers has said that he is satisfied with his team's preparation for the Champions Trophy, where they will begin their campaign against Sri Lanka on June 3 at the Oval.

Root posted his 10th one-day global century, off 115 deliveries, and hit one six and 11 fours in his highest score in this format of the game.

Root was going at solid at the other end, busy collecting the ones and twos with incoming batsman Eoin Morgan expectedly going for his shots.

Chasing a challenging total of 306, Alex Hales (95) and Joe Root (133 not out) led from the front to chase the target after England started off on a poor note, losing opener Jason Roy (1) in the third over with just six runs on the board.

England have successfully made 300-plus chases six times, four of them in the last two years.

England, who have become a much more improved side in limited-overs cricket over the years, are also touted as one of the favourites to win the tournament.

Morgan also dismissed suggestions that Root, whose career-high ODI score earned him the man-of-the-match award, was either too tardy for the format or incapable of big-hitting. "It is important to be relaxed and confident before every big game, to keep the nerves in check", Sarfraz said while speaking to a private news channel.

Woakes could only bowl two overs against Bangladesh yesterday.

"At one stage, Bangladesh looked like they were getting 330, and to peg it back from there I thought was a credit to (the bowlers)", he said.

"We need more variety in our attack". England are regarded as a side with one of the best batting line-ups.

Tamim and Soumya Sarkar added 56 for the first wicket before the latter was caught on the cover point boundary by substitute fielder Jonny Bairstow off Ben Stokes for 28.

Fast bowler Plunkett took four wickets for 59 runs from his maximum 10 overs.

Tamim skied Liam Plunkett to wicketkeeper Jos Buttler and Mushfiqur was caught in the deep for 79 off the next ball.

England play New Zealand next on Tuesday in Group A. The New Zealanders face Australia on Friday.
