Real Madrid defender, Pepe has confirmed he is leaving the club. "They just offered me one year, so it's clear that I'm not going to continue with Real Madrid".

The newspaper states Unai Emery's "firm" desire for Pepe was key to the "unexpected move", which will see the Portuguese pen a two-year contract with PSG.

Pepe struggled for game time in the recently concluded campaign and made only 18 appearances in all competitions, a disappointing number considering the fact that Real featured significantly in at least four competitions.

Pepe has won three Champions League titles, two Ligas, two Copas del Rey, two FIFA Club World Cups and two Spanish Supercups with Real Madrid, completing a very successful career. What Zidane has done with Real Madrid is spectacular, but there are things I don't understand.

"One stage is over and, from now on, another one will start".

The likes of Inter Milan and Chinese side Hebei Fortune had been linked with making a move for the 34-year-old, but it appears PSG have nipped in to win the race, after the club's owner, Nasser Al Khelaifi, held talks with Pepe's agent Jorge Mendes during Saturdays Champions League final.

Premier League clubs will be alerted by Pepe's comments after he added: 'There are more offers, also from England'.
