According to oddsmakers from online sports book, the Mets are -130 money line favorites to knock off the Nationals, who have odds of +120 to pull off the upset in NY.

Trea Turner homered on the second pitch of the game for the Washington Nationals, who blasted two more round-trippers Saturday on their way to a 7-4 win over the New York Mets at Citi Field.

Rockies 10, Giants 8 • Ian Desmond hit a three-run homer and drove in four and DJ LeMahieu had four hits for the second straight game for host Colorado, which has won seven straight over San Francisco.

NEW YORK (AP) - Toting his toddler around the clubhouse postgame, Jacob deGrom joked about the Father's Day present he gave himself - the souvenir ball from his first big league home run. "But that's where I seem to hit baseballs in batting practice, so I knew if I got it over there, it would have a chance".

DeGrom wasn't ideal on Sunday, but he beamed that it was "awesome" for him to pitch so well with his father Tony in attendance, as well as the pitcher's one-year-old son, Jaxon, who had endured scary breathing issues as a newborn in 2016. He shut down a bruising Washington Nationals lineup on three singles for eight dominant innings and also delivered the loudest hit in a 5-1 win that prevented a four-game sweep.

"It was awesome", is how he summed it up.

The Nationals extended their lead over the Mets in the division to 10.5 games.

Let's face it, Jacob deGrom can't pitch for the Mets every day. "You can not let him take the lead".

"I asked if I could watch his bullpen sessions, he said, 'Maybe, ' " Baker said with a laugh.

DeGrom mixed his fastball, slider and changeup well, fanned Bryce Harper with a 97 miles per hour heater on his 105th and last pitch and walked off to a standing ovation. He struck out five and walked two (see full recap). "I knew that's my last batter".

The 2014 NL Rookie of the Year, a converted infielder at Stetson University, kept holding down his helmet as he rounded the bases, making sure it didn't fly off his flyaway hair.

Jose Ramirez added three hits as Cleveland climbed one game behind first-place Minnesota. He said the prize was destined for his dad, Tony.

Nationals: LHP Matt Grace was recalled from Triple-A Syracuse for his fifth stint this season with Washington.

NY cut it to 6-4 in the eighth on an RBI single by Jose Reyes.

The victory made the Mets 17-0 when their pitcher homers, dating to a loss when Jason Isringhausen connected in 1996, the Elias Sports Bureau said.

Wilmer Flores and Rene Rivera homered for the Mets. Daniel Murphy finished 2-for-4 with an RBI double and scored on Adam Lind's two-run homer into the upper deck in the eighth. Anthony Rendon hit a two-run homer while Bryce Harper and Ryan Zimmerman produced RBI singles. The rest of his teammates couldn't do much with deGrom, either.

The right-hander is 0-6 this season with a 5.40 ERA and a 1.288 WHIP over 11 starts and away from Kauffman Stadium the number get worse.

The Mets took the lead in the fourth when Lucas Duda singled, went to second on T.J. Rivera's single and scored when Matt Wieters dropped the throw home on Travis d'Arnaud's single. He credits Nationals first base coach Davey Lopes, who stole 557 bases in his career, for his success on the basepaths.

"Tell me to run".

"He gives you the confidence to run, but that's something I've never really had", Turner said. But this is streaking where what have you done for me lately is our motto. "He's pushing me to run and that's huge for me personally". Manager Dusty Baker said Kelley was battling neck spasms Friday night when he showed decreased velocity while pitching in the ninth inning. "But it's paid off. Put him in the two hole, got him up there a fifth time in the last inning". He was on the DL in May with a lower back strain.

Cespedes went 4-for-5 with three runs scored for the Mets and Jay Bruce had three singles. Carlos Gomez homered and drove in four after being sidelined four weeks with a strained right hamstring.

Washington is 11-2 in their last 13 road games and 9-1 in their last 10 road games against a team with a losing record while the over is 6-0 in their last 6 games overall.
